Music Therapy - Service User Feedback
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to access Music Therapy with Sam at Islington Mind. The sessions that I have had have been amazing – they have really helped me to relax. The music therapy practice has helped me breath really deeply for the first time – my whole body muscles are really relaxed after the sessions. The impact of the relaxation that I feel stays with me for the whole day and into the evening – which really helps me have a restful sleep. I feel this physically – pressure behind my eyes and neck are relieved which is wonderful. I feel refreshed after the sessions.
I have never been able to play an instrument or music but this hasn’t mattered – with the help and support of Music Therapist we create music and I even sing! The music we create stays with me throughout the day after the sessions. Nothing has helped me like Music Therapy over the last 14 years. I will tell my Psychiatrist how helpful it has been.
I intend to return to the Drop in sessions and continue accessing Music Therapy in the future.
Thank you Sam, thank you Islington Mind!”
